So, you’ve been taking surveys from various sites and earning some of that money or rewards from them. But gosh darn it! Sometimes, you see that you’re unable to take up some surveys, while others have different messages on why you could or couldn’t complete the survey. You’re left in a dilemma about what these jargons or words really mean. Of course, you could contact and ask customer support what these survey message terminologies mean. But just going through all that effort and time is painfully excruciating!
Apart from giving you amazing rewards for paid surveys and being one of the best paid survey sites in the world, we at Zippy Opinion want to give you a look into all the commonly used terminologies that we come across while taking up surveys. So climb on board, mateys! Let’s dip our toes into the world of surveys and update our survey vocabulary.
Unanswered – This term means that the survey has been delivered to the respondent and has been received, but the survey taker has not opened it yet.
Started – The respondent has started the survey but has not completed it yet. This could be due to time constraints or other barriers.
Terminate – Every survey has a screening process to check if a participant’s profile matches the required criteria. If the survey taker doesn’t meet these requirements, the survey will be terminated. Don’t fret though! Because we love you so much, we’ll still give you some Zippy Points as a termination bonus.
Complete – This means the respondent has successfully completed the survey and totally deserves all the points we promised (no pun intended!).
Quota Full – This means that although you’ve attempted to complete the survey, the required number of participants has already been fulfilled. But don’t be too disappointed—we’ll still award you some Quota Full points as a gesture of goodwill.
Survey Closed – This means the respondent tried to open the survey invitation, but the project had already closed. This usually happens when the survey was made available long before you got to it. So remember—take up surveys as soon as you receive them! As the old saying goes, “Make hay while the sun shines.”
Timed Out – This means you started the survey but left it incomplete. Maybe your friend came to visit, or your boss caught you mid-survey. Remember, Zippians: you’ll be automatically timed out of a survey 1 hour after starting it.
Suspicious – Our state-of-the-art technology can detect suspicious activity. This may mean you’re flagged as a Speedster (someone who rushes through surveys without reading) or a Straightliner (someone who selects the same answer for all questions). In short—don’t be “sus”! (Among Us reference, if you know, you know.)
Possible Duplicate – If a respondent tries to answer the same survey more than once, our system flags this attempt as a possible duplicate using the IP address.
Fraudulent – Survey sites share your responses with clients who value your input. But if these clients, through their high-tech systems, mark your response as invalid or insincere, it may be flagged as fraudulent. So remember, kids—don’t break the rules!
Quality Terminate – This means your survey was terminated because the system detected quality issues in your responses. Quality control is key, Zippians!
Pre-Screen Started – This means you’ve begun the pre-screener survey but haven’t yet moved on to the actual client survey. The real earning begins when you complete the entire survey!
Pre-Screen Terminate – This happens when your profile doesn’t meet the criteria of the pre-screener test, so you’re unable to proceed to the client survey.
Pre-Screen Timed Out – As we said earlier, you’ll be timed out 1 hour after beginning a survey. When this happens during the pre-screener phase, it’s a pre-screen timeout.
Bad GeoIP – This term refers to survey termination due to your IP address not matching the targeted geographic region for the survey.
Technical Terminate – This happens when your device isn’t compatible with the survey’s tech settings. This can include your OS (Windows, iOS, Android), browser issues, or hardware (e.g., webcam). Always follow the instructions carefully!
Unsubscribed – This indicates that you were selected for a survey but unsubscribed before taking it. Bad timing!

There are a variety of reasons for this to happen. The email may still be in transit. Depending on internet traffic, it can take a couple hours for emails to arrive. This is more likely to happen around holidays and peak sending times. Ensure that you have given the correct email – no spaces or misspelling.
